Before I get a tune...
I own a 98 Cobra and recently encountered a blown head gasket. Actually talked to someone at Injected about taking care of it.
But I instead of just replacing the head gasket we ended up going with:
http://modularmustangracing.com.tempwebs...=431&cid=1
MMR's 850 stroker.
The last tune my car had was done elsewhere and I felt as if regardless of what I asked it was going to be a VERY safe tune. So I'd like to try here and see if perhaps we can live on the edge a little.
Right now I've got a T-trim with a Paxton air to air intercooler and a 3.3 pulley.
Fuel system consists of an aviator fuel pump and 42 lbs injectors w/ aeromotive regulator.
Ported upper and lower
Ported stock throttle body
4 in power pipe
KB Boost-a-spark
SCT 4 bank chip
BBK longtubes
BBK Catted H Pipe
I'd like to get the most out of this combination as possible, but not against upgrading my fuel system.
I'm going to be taking my heads to Proline shortly to get them checked out and most likely will have some work done to them while they're there.
I'm just curious what size pulley I should be going with. Also, what fuel system upgrades I should be looking into to get the most out of this combination.
I'll be retaining the stock 98 cobra cams for now as well.
The motor should be here within 3-4 weeks. Then as soon as its assembled I'll be having it towed to get it tuned. I would just like to get everything in order prior.
Thanks
BTW, previous tune netted 464HP and 396TQ on around 8-9 PSI

RE: Before I get a tune...
Is your car still a "B" headed motor?
If you can swing it, a set of cams will really wake that thing up. One of the '98 Cobras I did a with your same basic set-up (HD T-trim, Paxton air-air, injected "B" heads and cams, fuel system, etc) makes 630~640 on pump gas.
Pulleys....Put a 10% over drive crank pulley on it and a 3.12. We can start there and see what it likes.
Injectors.....The 42's are going to be done soon. Prolly need to think about some 60's
Fuel system....call me. rather talk with you on the phone about this. I will have a few questions to ask.
'97 Cobra - Not running
'96 T-Bird - Not running
'04 GT - Running
'02 Cannondale - Running
'86 hotrod mower - Running
'03 Titan -Running
'03 Ez-Go - Running
'95 Bronco - Running

RE: Before I get a tune...
Aric,
Yep, still a B head car.
I'm pretty much set on going with cams at the moment. Just scrounging up some extra fundage. Wasn't sure which ones to go with though? Seems like alot of folks go with Comp, but still not sure which set would be best for this combo.
Thanks for the info on the pulleys/injectors. I'll go ahead and snag the pulleys and see what I can do with the injectors.
I'll give you a call or stop by and talk to you about the fuel system once everything is falling together.
The motor should be here in 3-4 weeks and hopefully together shortly after that.
I'm assuming it would be best to just tow it your shop? How far ahead do I need to schedule for tuning?
Thanks

Scheduling is about 3-4 weeks in advance, we look forward to working with you on this project.

Awesome. Looking forward to working with you all as well!
I'd like to purchase cams in the next couple of days, not sure whether you all do custom grinds or if it would be best to go with something else. Just let me know when you get a chance if you don't mind!
Thanks again!

We can definitely get you a custom grind set of cams, we need to make also need to make sure your heads have the correct valve springs for the cams that we use. When you get ready just let us know.
Thanks,

RE: Before I get a tune...
I figured I'd need new springs.
Can you give me an idea price wise for a set of cams/springs?
