Injected Engineering Shop Tour | StayClassyAtlanta Media

Welcome to the first installment of the StayClassyAtlanta Shop Tour Series.

First on our list of amazing shops to explore is Injected Engineering, located in Kennesaw, Georgia.
Injected Engineering is a late model performance shop with the ability to work on nearly any modern performance vehicle. As soon as you walk into the shop it’s apparent that Injected Engineering wants you to feel comfortable. A comfy and inviting couch is against the wall directly inside the door. Featured magazine articles are hung on the walls showing off the caliber of their work. The custom table with their logo is adorned with mints and candy inside a lower pulley and a supercharger intake plenum. Little touches like this remind you that you’re dealing with some serious car guys here.

Once you walk past the lobby and the well stocked selection of T-Shirts and other apparel the door opens into the shop. Honestly, we couldn’t get over how clean and orgainzed this performance shop is. If you walk towards the rear of the shop you can see the in-ground Dynojet with the computer and display sitting neatly next to it on a rolling desk. Walk around and you’ll see an assortment of well stocked tool boxes, four rotary lifts, and an endless supply of performance parts ready to go on the cars that come in.

For more information on Injected Engineering and to see more of their awesome work we encourage you to go to their website.

RE: Injected Engineering Shop Tour | StayClassyAtlanta Media

When the S197 body style Mustang was released it was an instant hit. But when the performance gurus at Saleen got their hands on the Mustang it became even more of an eye catcher.
To most car guys a supercharged 4.6 three valve motor from Saleen would be fine. To a non-enthusiast it would be considered a bit ludicrous. But, as I’m sure all of the viewers of this site know, there is a different breed of car enthusiasts. Those that never can have “too much power”. So, when you have a 435 horsepower cloth top jaw dropper, what do you do to go faster?
More boost.
Before that could happen, the motor needed a rebuild so that it could handle all of the extra pressure. Injected Engineering of Kennesaw, Georgia took a 4.6 modular Mustang engine, stroked it out to 302 cubic inches, used all forged internals, and then packed it back into the engine bay to ensure a solid power plant. The top end consists of custom ground camshafts and ported heads with over-sized Manley valves. The motor gets fed a heaping seventeen pounds of boost, on the pump gas tune, compressed by a shiny 76mm Turbonetics turbo stuffed under the hood. As if that’s not enough, there’s a race gas tune that makes twenty three pounds of boost. The power level is controlled by an E-Boost 2 electronic boost controller, so the driver chooses how many horses are thrown to the tires. The custom exhaust made by Exotic Exhaust and Fabrication in Hiram, Georgia gives this car a menacing tone. The power is sent through a Tremec-6060 transmission with a Spec twin disk clutch.
Now, honestly, power isn’t all that is necessary in building a fast street car. It’s also got to hook and handle. As Ryan from Injected Engineering listed off the parts making up the suspension it sounded as though he was reading through a BMR catalog. The sub frame, upper and lower control arms, and many other suspension related parts were all BMR products. This car handles like a dream.
Of course since it’s had its work done at Injected Engineering it’s going to have its fair share of time on the dyno, which means plenty of awesome numbers. On this setup, the car made 678 rwhp and 747 rwtq on the race gas tune. On 93 octane pump gas it made 600 rwhp and 650 rwtq.
But it’s not the insane amounts of power, the amazing handling, or that awesome sound that separate this car from the rest. It’s the little things. The gauges that give off a fighter jet feel as they make their full sweep with a turn of the key. The immaculate detail done by JC Van Bloom at Attention to Details that ensure that this car is flossy clean. The hood pins and the center exhaust remind you that this car has a racing heritage. The rear end that glows red with lights reminding you that you’re slower than this quick boosted Pony. Chances are, if you see this car on the highway, you’ll be getting a good look at them.

I suppose it's politically correct to leave out the Olde Towne and Pink Pony girls.
