Yes Sir, JC. Air Ride too! Smile Here is a link to a bunch of pictures when Aric did the Brembos and wheels that show what the IRS looks like:

RE: Mark VIII

The Air-Ride can be deleted in lieu of just shocks and springs. Big Scott deleted the Air-Ride in his new Mark.

And with some adaptation, the Mark's aluminum lower control arms can be used in place of the MN12's (T-Bird and Couger) steel lower control arms, thus subtracting some weight and adding in some coolness factor. Additionally, some of the Cobra's IRS poly bushings are also interchangeable with the MN12 stuff (with some modification).

Mike, did you have the IRS in the Mark reinforced and re-welded a la MN12 Performance specs or better? http://www.mn12performance.com/mn12how-to/irs/irs.html

RE: Mark VIII

Nice! Reason why I was asking, there were some used bilsten sports for sale on ebay at a really low price and saw that the part number was the same as for my 03 cobra. I forgot about the auction and missed the boat.

RE: Mark VIII

JC, There have been quite a few Mark VIII owners going to those shocks. Some of them though, feel they are a little too firm for their liking.

Mike, I am a die hard air ride fan. Nothing against the guys that switch over to springs, but there is a coolness factor, and just another feature that makes the Mark a special car. Smile

I have the RAXLES, SCP pinion brace and diff cover brace to keep things in place. No boxing or extra welds yet.

RE: Mark VIII

How does the air bags ride? The bilstein sports are a harsh ride, I have them with 650 spring rate coilovers on the rear.....talk about teeth chattering.

RE: Mark VIII

Since my Mark is lowered, the ride is a little on the soft side. What is really nice about the air ride - I can pile 5 people, a trunk full of luggage, and a full tank of fuel in it, and it will air up adjusting the ride height and level out automatically. No dragging bottom - except for the speed bumps since it is lowered Smile

RE: Mark VIII

The MK8 air ride system sucks dogg poo! Gut it and go with springs/shocks, a hot rod linky should not be on stock bags... it's just not right mange!

Happy 4th y'all!
