or even gets put back together again (I need to name this car HUMPTY DUMPTY)

S.O.B. is all I can say..... enjoy

:banghead::banghead:

put it this way...it moved so much that it rubbed up against my main support(pieces holder when it splits)

I couldn't hear the "racket" over the gear drive....this motor's got about 1000 N/A street miles on it. At least I caught it before we put the screws to it and let her stretch her legs...prolly would have tore some $H!T up.

I was in the process of taking the oil pan off b/c I wanted to put a -10 bulkhead fitting in there for my turbo oil return line (since it was on the stand...easy access)

Oh well. on to the next fix. Ryan, I'll get to you as soon as I can.

RE: Might be a few more days before the 'Mont gets tuned...

just got back from the machine shop and they seem pretty confident that they can fix it for $200-250 range which is a helluva lot cheaper than the other option (new crank, rebalance, blah blah blah) So we shall see!!! Now to figure out WHY this happened...Thinking it "might" be torque converter but not sure on that one....:shrug:

RE: Might be a few more days before the 'Mont gets tuned...

Not sure Aric, guys at the machine shop think there's something fishy with converter, I'm not entirely sure about that (although it's possible) BUT it drove/shifted like a champ when the car was running N/A (almost 90-95% of the miles that are on it now!) so I'm not sold on the converter issue. Also I'm not sure what the INITIAL crank endplay was so I can't attest to the fact that it was jacked from the beginning and over time that the converter just kept pushing it forward more and more as it wore the thrust bearing down on the mains???????? Just very curious indeed!
