Old Dog learning a New Truck.

2 weeks ago I saw a Black SVT F150 Lightning for sale. Turned out to be the same truck I had seen drive thru the parking lot at work and was in awe at it's deep evil exhaust tone.

At the time I saw the truck for sale I was working on a '65 F100. Had just spent 300 bucks on a drive shaft, ordered a floor shifter, installed some header mufflers and a couple used tires on some rims I got from a buddy. Then while I was checking the timing the tranny started acting up. I was like damnit, get one thing done and another problem arises. I don't have a shop and I really didn't want to go thru another hot summer working on this project in the yard and I had just seen a Lightning for sale......

Rode back over where the F150 was and got the phone number and gave the seller a call. His price was in my range and it was OBO. Went back next day for a test drive and made him an offer and now she's mine.....er well actually it's the banks but you know what I mean.

Now I've never owned a truck newer than a '72 model except that '83 model but I don't count that one.
So buying this 21st century model had me a nervous wreck. Plus the fact that it had a ton of mods done to it didn't help matters. I did feel better when I learned the mods where done by a Professional shop though.

Anyways this is my new truck BlacKsunShiNe, yes the Rob Zombie song, and thanks to Ryan for providing all the info on it's build.

Nice feeling knowing I can come here with any questions that may arise. Just wish ya'll were closer to Augusta.

I got IE on Facebook...have to go find ya on Streetfire too.

Quick question, my engine bay is rather dirty, dust and sand that's been kicked up from the road, what's the best way to clean it without hurting all those sensors and stuff?

Back in the day we just used a pressure washer.....

Do Not Use a pressure washer!!! Get some purple power or simple green degreaser and spray the entire engine compartment (let soak for a few minutes) very lightly rinse with water hose on shower setting. Repeat if necessary. Make sure you do this when the engine is cold if not the degreaser will leave spots on everything. Also do not start the engine until everything is dry.

Hope this helps!
