I recently purchased a 99 Lightning. The truck, as a whole, is in decent shape considering how many miles it has on it. I plan to go thru the truck and give it a solid once over before modding it. Outside of your normal items (filters, fluids) is there anything else I need to check or replace?

Should I go to a lower temp t-stat and colder plugs?

What is the best bet to get to the 400hp range? I would like to keep the boost fairly low maybe only a 2 or 4 lb. pulley, but don't have the funds for a full bolt-on truck. A tune is a must for me so I would like to have any mods installed prior.

By the way, my wife purchased me a "gift cert" from you for my Christmas gift.
