Ringlands

Its my understanding that the 6.1 in the JGCSRT8s have forged bottom ends but the ringlands are the weak point. Meaning the engine is a ticking timebomb on even 7 psi of boost or 150 shot or more of the juice. So does this mean you could just switch pistons, strenghten the top end and it would be like a forged motor capable of 800-900 hp at the crank reliably?

The Hemi's do have very thin ringlands however with a good tune they will last on 8psi or less (same goes for nitrous, 150hp or less). If you are planning to add stronger pistons I would go ahead with a 426 or 440 stroker. For anyone interested we do offer a forged stock 6.1 displacement engine. The crank is factory but the rods and pistons have been upgraded to stronger forged components.

I couldn't find any pricing on your site. I have a JGCSRT8 2010 model and was just inquiring about different builds. I would like to know whats available and cost effective at the same time. I intend to add boost whether it be supercharger or turbo and my goals are not too far fetched IMO. A high 11 sec time slip would be perfect range for now (11.8-11.9). I am just concerned with what seems to be considered the weakest link (ringlands), and was wondering if there was a cheap way out. Not all of us can afford Stroked and boosted LOL! I live in Douglasville btw so I am not too far from you. Right now I am in Korea (Military) till April 2011 so I have time to look through options. Thanks for responding btw.
