RE: Start up/ Break-in Tune
Hey, I've finally got everything together and waiting on a free weekend to pull the old motor and swap in the new motor and all. Wondering if you could send me a break-in tune for my sct xcal2? Also what do you charge for said break-in tune and a dyno tune later? One more question for you, can you burn chips or tune the older eec4 or whatever the computer type was in 1988? My dad has a 92 mustang that we've put an 88 2.3l turbo motor in. We're using the stock la3 computer, injectors and vam from the thunderbird. Wondering if you guys can do anything with that setup when I get my car down there for a dyno tune? If not we'd still like to get a few dyno pulls just to see what it makes if we can do that. Thanks.

Chris,
We can definitely send you a break in tune, the price will be 50% of total tuning labor which will go toward your final cost (you will only owe 50% plus dyno time upon completion of the tune). The only other info I need to build your break in file (Is your MAF set up as a blow through?)
We can program the LA3 computer but as you can imagine these are not very common so I would like to set up a separate appointment so we can devote the necessary time needed for tuning on your dad's car.

Sounds good, and yes, I'm using the vmp hpx slot style maf in a blow-thru setup. That's fine on a different appointment date for dad's car, just trying to save some time, but either way is fine. Thanks

We got the motor and tranny in this weekend. We'll probly have it ready to fire up next weekend. Do I need to call and give you anymore info on the setup? I guess so, since I need to pay huh lol.

RE: Start up/ Break-in Tune
Got the car fired up tonight, seemed to run great. Haven't drove it yet, but here's a pic of the maf setup. Hope it's where you wanted it.

Looks good Chris! Depending on how much air we blow across the MAF, it might need a MAFia, but we'll cross that bridge when we get there. See you soon!

RE: Start up/ Break-in Tune
Thanks, It'll be a few weeks before I can get down there for the final tuning. I still need to get the fore hat and another pump, then save for the rest of the tuning cost. I did take it for a ride sunday though and it runs great, doesn't overheat or anything. Every now and then it seems like the IAC is giving me fits though. Idles way up to like 2.5k with the clutch and coasting till I stop, then goes to idle.
