Start up/ Break-in Tune
Hi, I've built a fully forged .020 4.6l 2v with trickflow 44cc heads, mmr stage 2 turbo cams, and edlebrock intake. I'm planning on a set of 60lb injectors, dual 255lph pumps in a fore fuel hat, single 70mm turbo and not sure which maf yet. I was wondering do you guys send baseline tunes through email for startup and break-in before getting the car on the dyno on a new motor? My current tune is an sct tune for 42lb injectors and a 90mm lightning maf, and procharger on a stock pi head swapped npi shortblock. I highly doubt that tune would work for a startup/break-in tune on the new combo. Also which maf would you reccomend I go with on a blow through setup if you guys tune my car for me? Thanks, Chris.

Yes, we can email you a start up file for break in purposes just let me know when you are ready and I will send you a few forms to fill out which give us all the information we need about the car. On a turbo set up definitely go with a blow thru MAF they work much better in that application. I would recommend a slot style MAF (you can buy the flange to weld in your pressure side tubing or you can buy a housing with couplers) Make sure you place the MAF in the straightest section of tubing.

RE: Start up/ Break-in Tune
Thats awsome, I was looking at this maf
http://www.vmptuning.com/store/index.php...&parent=30
I plan on getting a flange and welding it on a 3" pipe since the intercooler piping is all 3" anyway.
Do you like that idea? Will that setup be easily tuned? I'd like to go ahead and get that paperwork whenever you get a chance. Once I sell my procharger kit I'll have the cash to finnish the turbo stuff and be ready to install the motor and fire it up. How much do you normally charge for a f/i dyno tune?

That MAF will work perfect, how much power are you shooting for with this set up? I responded to your email and sent the forms. Please let me know when you receive them.

I did get the forms, I'll get them back to you shortly, I don't really have a hp goal, but after some searching I've gapped the rings on the shortblock for a boost range of 15-18psi. I'd like to be able to cruise around on ~10psi and turn it up whenever I want. All on pump 93.

I emailed those forms back, but I noticed that I forgot some stuff at the bottom. along with the forged pistons it has a set of modmax forged H-beam rods with arp2000 rod bolts, new forged cobra crank with arp main and head studs, stock ignition system with msd coil packs.
