I recently purchased a 99 Lightning. The truck, as a whole, is in decent shape considering how many miles it has on it. I plan to go thru the truck and give it a solid once over before modding it. Outside of your normal items (filters, fluids) is there anything else I need to check or replace?

Should I go to a lower temp t-stat and colder plugs?

What is the best bet to get to the 400hp range? I would like to keep the boost fairly low maybe only a 2 or 4 lb. pulley, but don't have the funds for a full bolt-on truck. A tune is a must for me so I would like to have any mods installed prior.

By the way, my wife purchased me a "gift cert" from you for my Christmas gift. She had nothing but good things to say about the cleanliness of the shop and friendly demeanor of the person she spoke to. Thanks for making our first experience a good one, and I look forward to having my truck worked on there.

Complying with the EU's Reach Directive does not seem to be a problem for big enterprises. Smaller companies, however, are waiting until the last minute and some may even stop exporting to the EU altogether. REACH Directive restricts and limits the presence of numerous chemicals, including phthalates and lead. The former is a plasticizer said to be a hormone disrupter, and cause cancer and birth defects. Lead is used widely in many products, including paint, plastic, ceramics, textiles and garments. It is also said to cause cancer, and can damage the central nervous and immune systems. REACH stipulates phthalate and lead content should not exceed 0.1ppm and 1.0ppm per product, respectively.

The new regulation puts the responsibility on chemical producers to provide a wide variety of information on safety, including toxicity, carcinogenicity, mutagenicity, environmental fate, and other data that must be “robust” and often follow good laboratory practices (“GLP”) standards. The EU has created a new European Chemicals Agency to work in tandem with Member States to receive and evaluate the data submitted by chemicals manufacturers. The aim of REACH is to improve the protection of human health and the environment through the better and earlier identification of the intrinsic properties of chemical substances. At the same time, REACH aims to enhance innovation and competitiveness of the EU chemicals industry. The benefits of the REACH system will come gradually, as more and more substances are phased into REACH. The REACH Directive places greater responsibility on industry to manage the risks from chemicals and to provide safety information on the substances.

2 weeks ago I saw a Black SVT F150 Lightning for sale. Turned out to be the same truck I had seen drive thru the parking lot at work and was in awe at it's deep evil exhaust tone.

At the time I saw the truck for sale I was working on a '65 F100. Had just spent 300 bucks on a drive shaft, ordered a floor shifter, installed some header mufflers and a couple used tires on some rims I got from a buddy. Then while I was checking the timing the tranny started acting up. I was like damnit, get one thing done and another problem arises. I don't have a shop and I really didn't want to go thru another hot summer working on this project in the yard and I had just seen a Lightning for sale......

Rode back over where the F150 was and got the phone number and gave the seller a call. His price was in my range and it was OBO. Went back next day for a test drive and made him an offer and now she's mine.....er well actually it's the banks but you know what I mean.

Now I've never owned a truck newer than a '72 model except that '83 model but I don't count that one.
So buying this 21st century model had me a nervous wreck. Plus the fact that it had a ton of mods done to it didn't help matters. I did feel better when I learned the mods where done by a Professional shop though.

Anyways this is my new truck BlacKsunShiNe, yes the Rob Zombie song, and thanks to Ryan for providing all the info on it's build.

Nice feeling knowing I can come here with any questions that may arise. Just wish ya'll were closer to Augusta.

Wanted to give my thanks and props to all the guys at Injected. Especially Aric and Ryan.

Thanks for the great hospitality while I was getting my car tuned there the other week and also thank you for the nice gains I got she feels like a totally different car now. I really appriciate the time you guys spend to make sure everything is done right, I still can not get over how such small changes can make such a big difference when it comes to tuning.

Thanks again Injected you all rock!!!

Now I just need SW LT's and a little 150shot..
