Water spots

I have a "used" door glass in one of my cars that has water spots on it that will not come out with normal cleaning supplies. Any suggestions on what will get them out?

Cool  RE: Water spots

Sorry, water spots are really hard to get out of glass let alone paint. Honestly I am not sure what will work because you dont want to scratch the glass. The glass that is used now is much softer than in decades past. For future reference, wax your windows and that will help to avoid water spots in the future (I know that does not help you now). Have your tried a cleaner wax? if that does not work, I would reccomend going to a detailing chat forum, I imagine someone there might know how to get rid of the water spots on glass. Getting water spots out of glass is not my area of expertise and I dont want to give you bad advice. Good luck.

RE: Water spots

You can also try white distilled vinegar, sometimes it will work depending on how severe the water spots on the glass are. Know this, the water spot on glass is more than just a spot, it is actually etched onto the glass. If you try the vinegar be sure to wash the vehicle immediately after you are done to remove all traces of the vinegar. Vinegar has a low ph (considered and acid). You will also need to wax any area of the paint that comes in contact with the vinegar because it will strip off the wax. Good luck.
